Kat comes from a sporting background – having competed in gymnastics, tumbling, athletics and judo before focusing on cycling and tennis. Growing up in and around sport has helped develop and nuture Kat’s love for movement. She is passionate about supporting all people to continue doing what they love and will work with an athlete/individual in order to get them to return to pre injury level and beyond. Completing Human Movement (RMIT) and Master of Physiotherapy (Curtin University) followed by further postgraduate study in the fields of Exercise and Rehabilitation, Strength and Conditioning places Kat in an unique position to provide thorough care and expertise across the continuum of injury and health.
Kat has worked/gained experience both interstate and overseas prior to returning home to Melbourne three years ago. Since returning to Melbourne Kat has developed quite a following of cyclists who enjoy spending time on the bike as much as she does.
Kat even travelled a far as Varese in Italy to the AIS European Training Centre to attend the Science of Cycling, completing additional training and education on topics like bike fit, biomechanics, training load and injury management. Kat will also attend the Medicine of Cycling conference usually held in Colorado.
Kat uses a combination of manual therapy techniques, dry needling and specific exercise prescription to achieve best results.
Kat has worked with a variety of sporting teams including football, netball, rugby and cycling. Kat has also completed training in Dry Needling, Clinical Pilates, Hydrotherapy, Exercise and Rehabilitation, Science of Cycling and Injury Prevention
